National safety mark means a prescribed expression, symbol or abbreviation or any combination of them ( marque nationale de sécurité) prescribed Minister means the Minister of Transport ( ministre) national safety mark Manufacture, in relation to a vehicle, includes any process of assembling or altering the vehicle prior to its sale to the first retail purchaser ( fabrication ou construction) Minister Inspector means a person designated as an automotive inspector pursuant to section 14 ( inspecteur) manufacture (c) who imports a vehicle or article of equipment into Canada for the purpose of sale ( entreprise)Įquipment means any equipment set out in Schedule I that is designed for use in or on a vehicle ( équipement) inspector (b) who is engaged in the business of selling to other persons, for the purpose of resale by those persons, vehicles or equipment obtained directly from a person described in paragraph (a) or the agent of such a person, or (a) who is engaged in the business of manufacturing vehicles or equipment in Canada, Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows: Short Titleġ This Act may be cited as the Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
